Ladies First
I'm originally from Miami, FL but I've spent the last 8 years in the Boston area. After graduating from Coral Gables High School in 1994, I attended Wellesley College, where I majored in Russian Area Studies. I was lucky enough to spend the fall of 1996 living in Yaroslavl Russia (approx. 250 miles north of Moscow), studying at Yaroslavl State University. I graduated from Wellesley in 1998 and that fall, I started law school at Boston University School of Law. I got my J.D. in 2001 with a concentration in health law. After graduation I worked for the U.S. Department of Labor in Boston. This past May, John and I moved to Miami where I am currently an Associate Director of Career Planning at the University of Miami School of Law. I am admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.

Anybody who knows me knows that I love anything having to do with Russia. I'm also a big sports fan - my two favorite teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers and the University of Miami Hurricanes. I also love chicken fingers, classic movies and traveling. I'm an admitted coca-cola addict. And, I *still* don't have my driver's license. Thanks for reading!

John's Turn
Born in Evansville, Indiana, I have lived in 11 different states. I graduated from Westlake High School in Westlake Village, California in 1995. In 2000 I received my B.A. in Sociology with a specialization in Business and Administration from UCLA. After graduation, I moved to Boston to continue my studies at Boston University School of Law, and I will graduate in May 2003. During my time at B.U. I worked with 2 firms, the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office and clerked for a judge in Rhode Island. Beginning in August, I will be working for Mase & Gassenheimer, P.A., a law firm in Miami. I will be in the appellate litigation department. Mase & Gassenheimer represents all of the major cruise companies and I am looking forward to starting work.

I too am a big sports fan, but don't agree with Diane. The best sports teams are from Detroit: the Lions,Tigers, Pistons, and the Stanley Cup Champion Red Wings!!!! I can watch the History Channel all day, like to eat sushi, Greek, Italian and Mexican, and have a huge sports memorabillia collection. I, like Diane, love to travel. In fact, I've been to 46 of the 50 states. Unfortunately for Diane she will be forced to travel to North Dakota with me on my way to visiting all 50.

The Story of Us
HOW WE MET: We met on August 24, 2000, the first day of BU Law's orientation. The law school hosted a party at the Sweetwater Cafe in Boston. From John: Diane's friend, Christian, introduced me to her and in doing so stated she was 'the most beautiful girl in the law school.' I agreed but didn't say anything because I didn't want her to get a bad impression of me. From Diane: Christian and Pete introduced me to John, saying he was from Los Angeles. Of course I asked him if he was a Dodgers fan and he said they were one of his favorite teams. It wasn't until a few months later that I figured out he was lying (he prefers the Tigers) just so he could continue talking to me. Since the start of a new school year is always a busy time, it took us a few weeks before we went on our first date, but we were on each other's mind since the moment we met.

HOW WE GOT ENGAGED: John filmed a video of all the places in Boston and Brookline where we had spent time together. He even remembered things that I had forgotten about. I had a long day and was tired. He told me he would prepare a bubble bath for me so I could relax. When I went into the bathroom, I found that he had set up a television and radio, in addition to my bubble bath. He played the video, which was set to 'Three Times a Lady' and 'Still' by The Commodores.' At the end of the video, John said that he hoped I had enjoyed this trip down memory lane and he looked forward to spending the rest of his life with me. Then he (in person) proposed. And of course I said yes.

Our engagement was announced on April 25, 2002.
