Getting there and away
Alot of the directions on this page will be most useful for those people staying at the Hampton Inn. We didn't have the space or time to create directions from alternate sites. However, we'd be happy to help people get directions from their origin. Also, be sure to check out mapquest.com for help in creating directions.

Going from Natick/Wellesley to Boston and a note about using public transportation
Boston is known for having comprehensive public transportation, more so in the city than in the suburbs. Therefore, it is not recommended that you try to get to and from Wellesley and Natick via public transportation alone (the walk from the commuter rail stop to the campus will take at least 20 minutes). However, you can use the T or the commuter rail for part of your journey, and use a cab the rest of the way. Some sugestions: 1. Take the commuter rail's Framingham/Worcester line to the Wellesley Square stop. It will cost $ 3 for a one-way ticket. There is a $1 surcharge if you buy your ticket on the train as opposed to South Station. The surcharge is increased to $ 2 during peak hours. Call 617-222-3200 for the commuter rail schedule. From the Wellesley Square stop, you can take a taxi to Wellesley College. The fare will be approximately $ 4. Taxi companies in the area include Veteran's Taxi (781-235-1600) and Wellesley Transportation (781-235-2200). 2. Take the T's Green "D" line to the Woodland or Riverside stops. The fare will be $ 2 and 50 cents. From there you can call one of the taxi companies above. A cab ride from either stop will cost approximately $ 20 to $ 25 If you want to head into Boston to do some sightseeing, it is recommended that you travel downtown by public transportation because (1) parking is scare and expensive and (2) driving in Boston can be a very stressful experience. You can park at the Wellesley Square commuter rail stop and the Woodland and Riverside T stops. See www.mbta.com for more details. |
